I have always struggled with different questions about identity: who am I, what am I meant to be doing in life… Some time ago I wrote the following when applying for a job and reading it again I was happy with how it came out. Not an excerpt from another source per se but something I thought was worth remembering as it outlines my principles and values.
I feel that my CV doesn’t entirely explain who I am and what makes me tick. I’m so much more that gets missed out. I’m a loyal, trustworthy individual with strong moral values. I value ambition and courage, humility and giving credit where it’s due, good manners and respect, empathy and gratitude, family and good friends. I’m curious and have an eye for detail, noticing small but albeit important things that others may overlook. I’m diplomatic, usually having a clear point of view but listening to different opinions in order to grow and learn from others.
