My Blackhorse Lane jeans have a William Morris print on the inside pockets with a quote that I first remember seeing when we visited his house near where we live:
“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
I can’t help but think this is linked to Dieter Rams’ mantra “less, but better“.
